We are continuing to make progress towards our dream house – as of this past Monday at about 10am we officially sold our house to a wonderful family. What a huge relief for me! Not only the official sale, but also knowing that the new owners are awesome! I have heard so many horror stories about people fixing up their homes and putting some good old “sweat equity” into them only to have the next owners trash everything and not take care of it. I would have been SO sad and actually a little hesitant to sell it if I had suspicious that would happen, but we couldn’t have been any luckier with our buyers. Happy day!
It was weird packing up and moving out – partly because we weren’t really moving in anywhere, and partly because I did not get as sad as I thought I would. I love that house dearly, but I guess I was more ready to move on that I was aware of! I went through and snapped a few pics after everything was cleared out…kind of wish we were moving into a house that was “move in ready” but the challenges we’ve been facing at our new place are kind of fun as well. (now that the critter surprises should mainly be behind us)
A quick walk through of our first home – bought in 2007, sold in 2012.
The main living area – things I will miss include the awesome cove ceilings, light fixtures from hub’s grandma’s house, and beautiful original oak floors. Things I will not miss – that fugly air conditioner and looking out the window and seeing that crusty old truck. :)
Hallway (looking from the master bedroom) living first door on left, office next on left, guest bedroom straight ahead and bathroom to right.

Master bedroom – will miss those awesome tall wide windows, but not really because we don’t need that privacy living in the country!
Bathroom – after the remodel, my favorite room in the house. Glad we did this last summer as it has helped given me the confidence to go with my weird ideas for home design and decorating which I will need at the new place!

Guest bedroom – my favorite light fixture in the house! We got it at ReStore, cleaned it up, spray painted it, and put in a different shape of light bulb for a COMPLETE transformation.

Office/third bedroom – MANY hours spent in here while I was working from home part time at my previous job – will miss sitting at my desk and gazing out the window at the beautiful backyard….can’t wait to have a beautiful yard again!

Kitchen – loved this open, bright spot in the house!

Well that is it. Goodbye house and best wishes with your new owners!
You will always have a special place in our hearts as our first home.
